A church record identifies 10241Anna and 10240Hans Giger as the parents of 5120Abraham Giger, who was baptized 12 September 1619 into the Evangelish-Reformierte Kirche in Berneck, Vogtei Rheintal, Old Swiss Confederacy. By 1640 10241Anna, age 60, was a widow and still in Haslach. She and her three children are shown in censuses in 16401 and 1643.2 As you can see, the censuses include each person's age and attest to their solid Christian upbringing: Two of the children knew the entire catechism,2 and all were in full communion.1
