3304Isaac Ricks, son of 6608Isaac Ricks and 6609Kathron ___, was born on 17 June 1669 in Virginia. His birth is documented in a Virginia Quaker yearly meeting minutes book.1

He married 3305Sarah, but her maiden name is unknown. Their oldest known child, son William, was born 15 July 1698, so they probably married circa 1697.2

A deed dated 28 July 1735 mentions 3304Isaac passingly and suggests that he lived (or at least owned land) in Isle of Wight County, Virginia along/near the Nansemond River at Indian Creek. Today this is the Lake Prince area a few miles north of Suffolk, Virginia.

The last known record of 3304Isaac is a deed dated 27 September 1736, by which he sold 100 acres (probably the same land mentioned in the abovementioned 1735 deed) to his younger brother Robert. The first few lines of the deed record are copied below.4

Interestingly, an earlier draft of the same text is on page 7 of the same minutes book. The writer scratched out what he had written on page 7, then started over on page 13. Notice, though, that at the bottom of page 7 is written, "ffriends Booke of Records per Mee Isaac Rickesis in the year 1700." This statement suggests that 6608Isaac himself was the writer, and that he wrote this entry in the year 1700. The penmanship on pages 7 and 13 looks the same.
