53Elizabeth was born circa 1829 in Georgia,1 probably in Hancock County (since her parents lived there for many years). Her parents were 106Jesse Carr and 107Lucinda Butts, as can be deduced from the 1850 and 1860 censuses.1,2 (Interesting side note: The full 1850 census page shows that 53Elizabeth was living next door to her future husband 52Josiah Collins.1)

1850: 53Elizabeth's family in Hancock County. Full page.1

1860: 53Elizabeth's family still in Hancock County. Full page.2

She married 52Josiah Collins in Hancock County on 23 September 1861.3 He was a widower and about 21 years older than she. For more information about their marriage, their lives together, etc., see his profile since that information won't be repeated here.

52Josiah died in 1871.4 53Elizabeth re-married to William Duffey in Hancock County on 23 December 1875.5 William was still living on 4 December 1876.6

1875: 53Elizabeth marries William Duffey. Full page.5

The 1880 census shows 53Elizabeth as head of household,7 so one may assume that her second husband (William Duffey) had died.

1880: 53Elizabeth is still in Hancock County and is now head of household. Full page.7

The latest record I've found that mentions 53Elizabeth is a Hancock County court record dated 15 October 1884, which mentions her as an adjoining land-owner.8
