Who is 485Catharine's father?

The will of 970Henry Chambers, dated 10 August 1781, names "my loving Daughter Catharine" as an heir.1


In his will, 970Henry Chambers names 485Catharine as a daughter. Full page.1

Unfortunately, 970Henry's will does not provide 485Catharine's married surname (i.e., Reid), which would have helped to identify her more conclusively. Fortunately, though, 970Henry's son Henry wrote a will that does provide his sisters' married names, including "Cathrin Reid." 2


The will of 970Catharine's brother Henry includes 485Catharine's married name (Reid) and thus helps confirm her identity. Full page.2

On 20 May 1767, Rowan County, North Carolina issued 484George Reid a bond to marry 485Cath. Chambers,3 and they married the following June.4 For more information about their marriage, their lives together, etc., see his profile since that information won't be repeated here.

On 26 May 1828, 485Katharine Reid of Jackson County, Georgia sold some land to Dilmus Lyle (her son-in-law).5 This is the last record I've found pertaining to her.
