28Hiram married 29Mary Lee Parlier on 4 June 1904.4 He may have lied about his age when applying for the marriage license: The record attests that he turned 21 on 15 June 1903, but he actually turned 19 on that date (if he was truly born on 15 June 1884, as his death certificate shows1).

The 1910 census shows that 29Mary Lee had had four children, but that none had survived. I don't know the circumstances of their deaths.5

His wife 29Mary Lee died in 19186 (She may have died from the infamous 1918 flu pandemic, although I have no evidence.), but the 1920 census shows that she and 28Hiram had had a few children before her death. We also see that 28Hiram had remarried to a woman named Lizzie, apparently a widow whose surname was previously Smith, although I've been unable to find a marriage record.7
