538015376Herefrid/Hemfred is known only from two later charters involving his son and grandson. Of these charters, the earlier (made sometime between 1162 and 1165) shows his name as Herefrid,1 and the later (dated 12 June 1190) shows Hemfred.2 The charters strongly imply that 538015376Herefrid/Hemfred had owned property in Throwley.

The Domesday Book shows "Herfrid" as the lord of Throwley in 1086. It seems likely that this "Herfrid" may have been the father or grandfather of our 538015376Herefrid/Hemfred, but there isn't enough evidence to say for certain.
