If you submit any documents, evidence, etc., I (Bryant Knight) must be convinced that the evidence is legitimate (i.e., not forged or altered), relevant for the problem/task at hand, and that a future researcher will be able to find the same document/evidence if it came from a publicly accessible resource (e.g., if it's from a county deed or probate book).

If you submit a rationale to solve a research problem, I must be convinced that your conclusion is accurate.

I am the sole judge of whether evidence/documents that you've submitted are legitimate, and whether your rationale actually solves a research problem. If I'm not convinced, I will not pay the reward.

By collecting a reward, you relinquish intellectual property rights to any photographs, scans, etc. that you may have provided in pursuance thereof, and you consent that those materials may be published on this site.

If someone else has already submitted materials relevant for a reward, but I haven't yet responded to him/her and haven't removed the offer from the "How You Can Help" page, and if you then meanwhile submit similar materials, I will pay a reward only to the person who submitted his/her materials first. Feel free to contact me before you begin to ask whether anyone else has already sought a reward for a particular task/problem.

Rewards will be sent as my choice of cash, check, or money order via snail-mail unless you and I mutually agree on an alternative payment method. (I'd be very happy to pay in cryptocurrency, so please contact me if interested.)

In the event of my death, no materials will be accepted, and no rewards will be paid. I have made arrangements such that my death will be noted on the contact info page.
