I know of 582Arthur Herring from just three records:

The 1805 and 1806 tax digests for Montgomey County, Georgia include 582Arthur as a resident of militia district 53 (map; this district now lies in Emanuel County). Living in the same district were 582Arthur's son Abraham and his son-in-law 290Richard Ricks. Both records show that 582Arthur owned 500 acres and 5 slaves.1

In a deed dated 29 December 1811 in Laurens County, Georgia, Abraham Herren mentions his parents, "Arter Herren" and "Elizabeth Herren." The deed appoints 582Arthur and 583Elizabeth to take possesion of some land "during their natural lifetime," so they must have still been alive.2

This 1811 deed identifies 582Arthur's wife and proves that both were still living. Full page.2
