102William Blount was born in Georgia sometime between 1801 and 1810.2,3 His wife was born in December 1804,4 so one might guess reasonably that 102William was born circa 1802.

The shopkeeper of a store in old Marion, Twiggs County, Georgia listed 102William as a customer on 6 January 1826,5 so he probably lived somewhere nearby.

102William married 103Morning Horne, although exactly when is unclear. Indeed, the marriage is proven only by the death certificate of their youngest daughter Roxy Ann; the relevant portion is copied below.1 Although the death certificate gives her name as "Mary," several other records made while she was still alive show her name as Morning or something similar.6-8

The 1830 and 1840 censuses show 102William's household.2,3 Both show that 102William owned a slave or two, even though three tax digests (from 1827, 1830, and 1833) suggest that he owned no land and was charged only minimal tax.9-11

102William seems to have died sometime in the 1840's, since his wife is listed as the head of household for the 1850 census.12 A fire destroyed Twiggs County's courthouse in 1901, so any probate records pertaining to 102William's estate are probably lost.
