16419Katherine Maplesden is the daughter of 32838Peter Maplesden, as explained in the problem section below. She was born roughly circa 1538 (since her eldest child Elizabeth was baptized on 20 March 1558/91).

16419Katherine's father

"George Maplisden one of the alderman of the Citty of Rochester in the county of Kent" wrote his will on 1 October 32 Elizabeth (1590). An excerpt from the first page of his will is copied below.2

George's will mentions many of his relatives, including "my sister [16419]Katherine Fisher of Detling within the saide county of Kent, widowe." 2

"my sister Katherine Fisher of Detling within the saide county of Kent, widowe" 2

A few decades earlier, George and his brothers had sold some property, and the deed names their father: 32838Peter Maplesden.3 (See 32838Peter Maplesden's profile for further discussion of this deed and the dramatic events that led to the sale.) Since 32838Peter is George's father, and since George is 16419Katherine's brother, then 32838Peter is 16419Katherine's father, too.

16419Katherine almost certainly married 16418Alexander Fisher in the late 1550's (judging from the baptism records of their children1), but we find explicit, direct evidence of their marriage in the will of her brother John, which was proved in May 1575; the relevant excerpt is copied below.4 (Additional evidence to prove their marriage is presented in 8209Thomazine Fisher's profile.)

The will of John Maplisden, dated May 1575, mentions "my sister [16419]Katherine Fisher wife to [16418]Alexander Fisher." Full page.4

Her husband had died by 1 October 1590, leaving 16419Katherine as a widow. The record describes her as a resident of Detling.2 This is the last record I've found of 16419Katherine.
