Note: Some of the research presented here is based on: John Frederick Dorman, Ancestors and Descendants of Francis Epes I of Virginia (Epes-Eppes-Epps), Volume I (Society of the Descendants of Francis Epes I of Virginia, 1992), pages 146-147 (“1153 ELIZABETH4 EPES”).

513Elizabeth Eppes, daughter of 1026Daniel Eppes,1 may have been born circa 1712. (Her older children, e.g. 256John Knight, seem to have been born circa 1730, so estimating 513Elizabeth's birth year as 1712 seems reasonable.)

Problem: Unresolved
Who is 513Elizabeth's mother?

1026Daniel Eppes' (i.e., 513Elizabeth's father's) will is dated 6 September 1749. The first heir named in the will is "my loving Wife Mary Eppes." 1

Therefore, one knows that 1026Daniel had a wife named Mary. However, I have found no evidence to indicate when they married. Hypothetically, 1026Daniel could have had an earlier wife (who perhaps died at an early age) who birthed some or all of his children.

Faced with this lack of evidence, I have chosen not to assign Mary an ahnentafel number.

She married 512John Knight. For more information about their marriage, etc., see his profile since that information won't be repeated here. Note, however, that although her husband 512John had ten known children, we can only be certain that 513Elizabeth bore four of those ten, namely Peter,2 Sarah,3 Mary,4 and 256John (as explained in his profile).

Her father's will left her “one Feather Bed and Furniture” and (after the death of his wife) one-third of much of the remainder of his estate.1

Her husband's will, dated 7 February 1760 in Sussex County, Virginia, doesn't mention 513Elizabeth at all,5 so one could guess that she'd already died sometime before.
