429Karan ___ may have been born circa 1740.*

She is mentioned several times in the will of her father-in-law 856Anthony Butt, dated 25 October 1776. The will describes 429Karan as a widow and insinuates that her deceased husband was 428Anthony Butt.1 Their marriage is affirmed in a later court record.2

This paragraph from 856Anthony Butt's will suggests that 429Karan may have been married to an Anthony Butt. Full page.1

As of 1 October 1792 429Karan was living in Greene County, Georgia.2 This is the last record I've found of her. (Helpfully, the record mentions her son 214Azariah and either her husband 429Anthony or father-in-law 856Anthony, so we can be confident that this is the same 429Karan mentioned in 856Anthony Butt's will.1)

This record proves that 429Karan Butts of Greene County, Georgia is the same woman named in 856Anthony Butt's will. Full page.2

Footnote:

*since her son 214Azariah Butts was born in the 1760's3
