27Sarah E. Quinn was born in Hancock County, Georgia2 on 31 August 18622,3 to parents 54Thomas Quinn and 55Martha Turner.2

We find 27Sallie living with her parents in Hancock County in the 1870 and 1880 censuses.4,5

27Sallie married 26Henderson Collins on 9 March 1890 in Hancock County.6 For more information about their marriage, their lives together, etc., see his profile since that information won't be repeated here.

26Henderson died in 1919, but 27Sallie lived on as his widow for more than two decades.

During an interview in 2016, 27Sallie's granddaughter Joyce Sweat explained that 27Sallie was very religious.8

Joyce: And Granny Collins, if she was there, and I had a short dress on, that was too short. I had to get something else [laughter]

She's buried in Carr Station Cemetery (better known as Reynolds Chapel Cemetery), Hancock County, Georgia at coordinates N33.20753 W83.10418. Below is a photo of her tombstone.3

Although the reverse side is labeled "Mrs. H I Smith" (a reference to 27Sarah's daughter 13Omie), Henry Lamon Smith later clarified that the label is wrong, and that this is actually a photograph of his grandmother 27Sarah.

2: Butts County, Georgia death certificate 26809 for Sarah E. Collins, who died 19 November 1940. The certificate seems to report her year of birth as 1872, but this seems to be an error and is not consistent with other records.
