Powell (214). Elias and Calvin are rather easily deduced as Tishy's sons; see 22find44.php#sampsonletitia . Tishy's entry: https://archive.org/details/7thcensus0056unit/page/n439/mode/1up Elias' entry: https://archive.org/details/7thcensus0056unit/page/n445/mode/1up Calvin's entry: https://archive.org/details/7thcensus0056unit/page/n446/mode/1up Debby's entry: https://archive.org/details/7thcensus0056unit/page/n448/mode/1up In 1840 Sampson Powell had a girl of age 10-14 in his household. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9YY5-SWB In 1850 Tishy's household did not include a daughter of corresponding age. In other words, whoever the girl of age 10-14 was, she must have moved out by 1850. https://archive.org/details/7thcensus0056unit/page/n439/mode/1up On 24 July 1842 Dobey Powell married Joel Anderson. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-C9BK-Y1WB The 1880 census explicitly shows Tishey Powell and Debba's mother (Technically, the census shows her as Debby's mother-in-law, but this is a clear scribal error). https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GYYY-5JM Thus we see that Debby reasonably matches the age of the 10-14 year-old girl in Sampson's household in 1840, that she subsequently married Joel Anderson in 1840, and that she therefore isn't in Tishy's household in 1850, yet she lived fairly close to Tishy and even closer to two other men who are known to be Tishy's sons. Based on these patterns, it's reasonably certain that Debby is Sampson's and Letitia's daughter. The 1880 census, which shows Debby's elderly mother living in her household, makes this overwhelmingly certain.
