Note: I'd like to extend special thanks to researcher Jared Nathan for sharing his work pertaining to 525392Thomas, especially for providing an English translation of his son's will.

The earliest known record of 525392Thomas Bettenham is dated 25 June 1337 in Kent, England.1 525392Thomas is described as "Thomas de Bettenhamme," apparently a reference to Bettenham Manor, which I've described elsewhere.

525392Thomas' son 262696Stephen mentions his father in his will (Specifically, the will reads Thome patris mei, i.e. "Thomas my father."), and the will also lets us infer that 525392Thomas' father was 1050784Henry Bettenham (The will reads Henrici Bettenham avi mei, i.e. "Henry Bettenham my grandfather.") and that 525392Thomas' wife was 525393Matilda ___ (The will mentions Matildis matris mee, i.e. "Matilda my mother").2

Since 262696Stephen's will was proved in 1415,2 if we assume a ~30-year span between generations, we can estimate that 525392Thomas died circa 1385, but of course this is merely a very rough approximation.

I have been unable to find the original record that Jacob and Johnson transcribed.
