I know of only one record that actually identifies 465Betsey by name: a marriage bond from Wilkes County, North Carolina dated 27 June 1800 for 465Betsey Bullis and her soon-to-be husband 464John Parlier.1

465Betsey Bullis' and 464John Parlier's marriage bond, dated 27 June 1800. Full page.1

Although 465Betsey isn't explicitly named in any other records, 464John Parlier's household was enumerated in the 1800, 1810, 1820, 1830, and 1840 censuses, and the oldest woman enumerated for each of those censuses certainly seems to be 465Betsey. Using a summary of those five censuses (See below.), notice that the oldest woman ages fairly consistently with 464John over the years. Furthermore, since Wilkes County kept good records, it's likely that if 464John had ever re-married to a different woman, any such marriage would have been recorded, yet I find no such record.

Year Description of Family Image Citation
18001 man and 1 woman both age 16-25link2
18101 man and 1 woman both age 26-44, and 2 boys and 2 girls all age 0-9link3
18201 man and 1 woman both age 26-44, 3 boys under age 10, 1 boy age 10-15, 1 boy age 16-18*, 1 girl age 0-9, and 1 girl age 10-15link4
18301 man and 1 woman both age 50-59, 1 boy age 10-14, 2 boys age 15-19, 1 girl age 10-14, and 1 woman age 20-29link5
18401 man and 1 woman both age 50-59, and 2 women age 20-29link6

A summary of the five censuses that seem to include 465Betsey, even though she isn't explicitly named.

465Betsey is absent from her husband's 1850 census listing,7 so she probably had died sometime in the 1840's.
