On 28 January 1772, 1866Thomas Job wrote a brief note consenting to the marriage of his daughter 933Sarah to 932William Douthit.1 The note is filed among records from Rowan County, North Carolina, so I presume it was written there. The note is the earliest record I've found of 1866Thomas.

1772: 1866Thomas wrote this note, apparently in Rowan County, North Carolina. This is the earliest record I've found pertaining to 1866Thomas. Bigger copy.1

1866Thomas must have been a professional weaver, since on 2 August 1775 he was ordered by a Rowan County court to take a 13 year-old orphan under his wing until he turned 21 to train him to become a weaver.2

A 1778 Rowan County tax digest includes 1866Thomas.3 Most of the other records I've found of him are simple land records, all from Rowan County.4-6 A deed dated 21 September 1785 mentions him passingly as an adjacent landowner.7

1866Thomas wrote his will on 16 May 1786. The first few lines of the county record copy of his will are below (See full record copy if you want.),8 followed by an abstract.

In an undated land entry that seems to have been made circa late September 1786, 1866Thomas is mentioned as an adjacent landowner,9 so he was probably still alive at the time. His will was probated on 9 May 1787.10
