115Margaret was born in Georgia circa 1835.1-4 As previously discussed, her maiden name may have been Brown, and she may have married in Hall County, Georgia in 1852, but I can't say so with complete certainty.

She married 114Wesley Hanes.1-3 For more details on their lives together, etc., see his profile since that information won't be repeated here.

After her husband's death in 1891,5 115Margaret may have fallen on hard times. On 9 April 1907, she was living in Jefferson County, Alabama when she first applied for a pension based on her husband's service in the Civil War. The application notes that she owned no property of any kind whatsoever, neither land nor personal property.6

By 1910 she had moved in with her son Charles in Cullman County. This census is the last record I've found of her.

In 1910 115Margaret lived with her son in 1910 in Cullman County, Alabama. Full page.4
